Family Pics

MAN! No wonder my mom didn't like doing family pictures. They are expensive. And its hard to get one where everyone looks good. LUCKILY, we got a few that were okay. We had some awesome weather for a while, so I went ahead and got these scheduled, and then it started snowing! Murphy's Law. So poor little Tate was a tad chilly, but he was a trooper.

Oh my gosh look at this little stud. He woke up this morning and was smiling like crazy! He was ready for his photoshoot!

This lil guy is getting so BIG! Seriously, he weighs so much more than any of my friends babies, and he's younger than them. Good, solid, healthy boy!
And he loves to sleep too! Poor kid was cursed to have parents who are both CRAZY sleepers. So we already have millions of pics of him sleeping in crazy positions. Usually with that blanket over his face. That is my blanket from when I was little. Its my purple treco that my grandma Bateman gave me. HE LOVES IT! One day I will be making him his own, that is in boy colors. But for now, who can blame the little guy for wanting to sleep with a girl blanket? Only those who have never had a treco blanket of their own.

HOME OWNERS!

Well, here it is! The tour through our brand new house. I have been promising this for weeks now. But here's the thing. This house is so much bigger than our apartment. I have been putting this off because I have so many new projects I want to do, and it seems to be so much harder to keep it clean. So, I've been putting this off with good intentions. BUT, I think that if I wait until I have all of my projects done, and its clean, Tate will be graduated from high school. So, I've decided to give you a tour as if you just stopped by. Mess and all.

The previous owner of our house was a single lady that lived in it the life of the house. She took incredible care of the house. It was built in 1998, so its 14 years old, but seriously looks like new. Hopefully we'll work just as hard as she did to keep it this beautiful for the next 14 years. Well, she ended up getting re-married and moved in with her new husband, so we got super lucky! Its around 2400 square foot, 5 beds 3 baths, and already feels like HOME. This neighborhood has been great as well. When we pulled up with the trailor full of stuff, we had the neighbors here within minutes helping us unload. What took us 5 hours to do by ourselves at  the apartment literally took 30 minutes at the new house because of all the help from the neighbors. We have had endless cookies showing up at our doorsteps too. We have never felt so welcome!

This is our beautiful new home! We knew it was ours the second we drove up to it. Which is saying a lot for how many houses we saw, and the fact that we really wanted to be in Springville. But we did. We knew before we even walked inside. Can I just tell you how much I love that its already landscaped? Every time we drive up to the house I say to Cory, "I love our tree in the front yard." Now, the grass does need some work, but Cory has already brought it a long way. My mom came and looked at it and confirmed that we have some kind of moth that digs in to the grass and eats it? All we need is to go pick up some kind of killer and that should get rid of those buggers. But even splotchy yellow grass and all...isn't it lovely???

Walking in the front door this is what you see. BARE WALLS! Geez, I've really got so many ideas, but waiting for them to formulate before I get too crazy. This room is the family room for now, but eventually, we'll probably make this the sitting room, you know, with a piano and such, and then the family/TV room will be downstairs. This room has vaulted ceilings and the wrap around walls to the kitchen, which we love. Lil man Tate is army crawling now, so that would explain the DVD's everywhere. Eh... what do you do? Keeps him busy right?
This is a view from where you just walked in. The entry way. This is the only part of the house that is put together. Baby steps right?
Walking down the hall we have the first bathroom. Right now Tate is the only one who uses it. It has that strange thing on the wall behind the toilet, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with that yet. Probably tear it out... but who knows? Reminder, I told you I was giving this tour as is, so sorry its not sparkling!
Another great thing about the house is that it has so much storage space! This is the closet right outside the first bathroom. What will I do with all of this space???
Onward down the hall is my very own washer and dryer closet! LOVE!!!
 First room is the nursery. This room is all put together too! Lucky little guy. The first time we came in this house, Tate and I were in this room, and I asked him if he wanted to live in this house and he giggled out loud! It was hilarious! And had nothing to do with the fact that he had been stuck in his car seat for the previous 6 houses and was just happy that I had finally taken him out (0;
2nd room down this hall has been set up as my office. My boss has been amazing and has really worked with me so that I can work around Cory's schedule and not have to put Tate in daycare. So when I cant be in the office, I'm in here.
3rd room. The master bed. This room has a ton of potential. This is the room that I can see the clearest with all of my Pinterest ideas. So hopefully it wont be long before I have before and after shots of this room posted. No that's not the sacrament tablecloth, although it probably could be, hanging from my window. And yes, that glass chandelier is for sale!
 The attached bath.
The kitchen and some more beautiful curtains.
 The rest of the kitchen.
The garage... with epoxy floor. PS, I've always wondered what I looked like taking pics. he he he
Now down the stairs. Stockton loves these stairs. He runs up and down them all the time. But for some reason he thinks you can only go down them by going all the way around to the kitchen. Silly dog.
First room downstairs. Right now its our dump room and a mess. SO... that's why you can only really see the top half.
2nd room downstairs. Even has a bed right now if any of you need to come and visit.
This lil gem of a room will one day be a play room for Tate. Right now, its another dump room.
The 3rd bathroom downstairs with the corner shower. I thought this was strange, but for some reason everyone else just loves it! I still haven't used it...
And then the future TV/family room. Right now is the ping pong table room (yes that beauty came with the house!) So the basement is 75% complete, which is actually really great. One day we will get to finish this part, but in the meantime, we don't have a completely unfinished basement that is unlivable.
Walking past the ping pong table and around the corner we come to the food storage/storage room. OOOOHHHH!!! Who would have ever thought that one day a room like this would be my pride and joy? But seriously! Look at all of that space! And that's just one side of the room!!
Back up the stairs and out to the backyard. We live right on Highway 6 that goes up Spanish Fork canyon, so our back wall is a huge sound barrier wall. The sound doesn't bother us at all! I love that the previous owner has the ivy growing up the wall, Cory hates it.
Good ol Stockton LOVES having a backyard to run and play in. I love that we have a ton of lilac bushes right now! Smells WONDERFUL!
And there is the back of the house. We need to find a place to put that hose. It is seriously a tripping hazard.
Well... thanks for coming by on this tour of our house! Sorry its taken me so long to show you. Any time you are down in our neck of the woods... give me a call and you can come see it for real!

Tate Albert is getting so BIG!!!
This months was rough because Taters got the dreaded RSV. It was weird how fast it came on. One night he just sounded really wheezy and I got worried. Everyone around me said not to worry about it because it didn't sound to bad, but even from day 1 I knew it was RSV. Two days later it was pretty obvious to anyone and we took him in to the doctor. The sad thing with RSV is its a virus so there really isn't much you can do other than let it run its course. Even though you could tell he didn't feel good, he was still such a good baby. He had it for probably about 2 1/2 weeks, which is actually really good. He didn't ever  have to have oxygen of a feeding tube, but we did have to get him suctioned twice. He hated it, but it seriously was amazing! He instantly sounded better, and I really think that helped him get over it so fast. The doctor told us that it just rocks little babies, but that grown ups get it to. He said that it would be like a small cold to a grown up. I got it from Tate, and it knocked me flat on my face. If he was feeling it so much worse, I really REALLY feel sorry him.

Even though he didn't feel good, he rocked this 5 month photo shoot! I love that his hair is doing  a little bit of a curl on top.

Tate LOVES to be naked! We don't let him to much, because its still so chilly out, and we don't want him to get sick, but when he does get the chance he is in heaven!

CHRISTMAS SEASON!

12/22/2012
This holiday season has been so wonderful! I can't believe how magical it is to have a baby during the season, even though he doesn't quite understand it yet, it sure was a different feeling this year!

At Grandma and Grandpa Givan's annual Christmas party Tate got to sit on Santa's lap... and look, no tears! ha ha ha... we'll give it until next year before we brag.
My grandparents are always doing such wonderful things for our family. And the family has gotten HUGE!!! So this year I was thinking to myself... I've never seen grandma and grandpa sit on Santa's lap. So as a family we decided to have Santa bring them a gift this year. Look how cute they are sitting on the jolly man's lap!

Just to tell you how much these people do for us. When all the kids were allowed to open their presents, we were all anxiously awaiting them to open theirs... but they were in the kitchen making root beer floats for everyone. It took multiple tried to get them to let someone else do the work so they could enjoy their gift from Santa.

They got a new train for their beautiful village they have under their tree. We had heard grandpa raving about this train set that blew real steam the week before, so we passed the word along to Santa. Grandpa loved it. Once most of the crowd was gone, grandpa and Cory got it out and put it on the tracks and just sat and watched it go round and round. In Cory's words, " Its like a camp fire, you just get lost in watching it."
Here is Tate opening his gift from Santa. Its a toy to put on his car seat!
I was really surprised at how excited he was. He was fascinated with it!
12/23/2012
I had the stuff to do my homemade Christmas gifts since Thanksgiving weekend and they just sat and sat and sat until the day before Christmas Eve, and my family was giving the gifts Christmas Eve. Talk about real Bateman procrastination.

It wouldn't have been SO bad if I didn't have to put 6 together!

12/24/2012
Since Cory had to work Christmas Eve, and we were spending the night at my families and then traveling up to his families, we decided to have our own Christmas together on Christmas Eve. This was the BEST idea ever! We both had so much fun. We seriously woke up at 7 am because we couldn't sleep any longer. The picture above is Stockton with his new toy! He's pretty funny with presents. He unwraps them and everything!

I got Cory the same train set that we picked out for Grandpa Givan. If you could have seen his eyes as we looked at those trains you would understand why this was such a great present for him! He had that thing put around the tree lickity split!

Cory surprised me as well by getting me my first pair of diamond earrings! I love them! I haven't taken them out since I got them.
Tate and I spent Christmas Eve at my families house while Cory was busy keeping the streets of Springville safe. Here is Tate in his new Christmas jammies! He is such a cutie!
And here are all of the grandchildren in their jammies! Can you believe how many there are now? And look at TAYLOR!!! He'll be 17 this year! CRAZY
12/25/2012
This is what we woke up to Christmas morning! Tate banked! He must have been a really good little boy. There's something he wants, something he needs, something he'll wear, and something he'll read!
Look how excited he was to get his new football! I love this picture!
And I just had to share this picture of Harley. When we told her to go and check to see if Santa had eaten any of the cookies, she got super mad and her exact words were..." I told Santa he could have ONE cookie!!! He ate them all!"
We drove up to Cory's parents and spent the rest of our break with them. We got really spoiled there and had a lot of fun playing a new game called TENZI. I of course didn't get any pictures there, but hey... I am getting better at making sure to take more pictures everywhere I go. Next year I'll make sure to get pictures at every stop. We are truly blessed and enjoyed spending this holiday season celebrating the Saviors birth as a new little family. I hope that you all had a great Christmas as well!
