Well, here it is! The tour through our brand new house. I have been promising this for weeks now. But here's the thing. This house is so much bigger than our apartment. I have been putting this off because I have so many new projects I want to do, and it seems to be so much harder to keep it clean. So, I've been putting this off with good intentions. BUT, I think that if I wait until I have all of my projects done, and its clean, Tate will be graduated from high school. So, I've decided to give you a tour as if you just stopped by. Mess and all.
The previous owner of our house was a single lady that lived in it the life of the house. She took incredible care of the house. It was built in 1998, so its 14 years old, but seriously looks like new. Hopefully we'll work just as hard as she did to keep it this beautiful for the next 14 years. Well, she ended up getting re-married and moved in with her new husband, so we got super lucky! Its around 2400 square foot, 5 beds 3 baths, and already feels like HOME. This neighborhood has been great as well. When we pulled up with the trailor full of stuff, we had the neighbors here within minutes helping us unload. What took us 5 hours to do by ourselves at the apartment literally took 30 minutes at the new house because of all the help from the neighbors. We have had endless cookies showing up at our doorsteps too. We have never felt so welcome!
This is our beautiful new home! We knew it was ours the second we drove up to it. Which is saying a lot for how many houses we saw, and the fact that we really wanted to be in Springville. But we did. We knew before we even walked inside. Can I just tell you how much I love that its already landscaped? Every time we drive up to the house I say to Cory, "I love our tree in the front yard." Now, the grass does need some work, but Cory has already brought it a long way. My mom came and looked at it and confirmed that we have some kind of moth that digs in to the grass and eats it? All we need is to go pick up some kind of killer and that should get rid of those buggers. But even splotchy yellow grass and all...isn't it lovely???
This is a view from where you just walked in. The entry way. This is the only part of the house that is put together. Baby steps right?
Walking down the hall we have the first bathroom. Right now Tate is the only one who uses it. It has that strange thing on the wall behind the toilet, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with that yet. Probably tear it out... but who knows? Reminder, I told you I was giving this tour as is, so sorry its not sparkling!
Another great thing about the house is that it has so much storage space! This is the closet right outside the first bathroom. What will I do with all of this space???
Onward down the hall is my very own washer and dryer closet! LOVE!!!
First room is the nursery. This room is all put together too! Lucky little guy. The first time we came in this house, Tate and I were in this room, and I asked him if he wanted to live in this house and he giggled out loud! It was hilarious! And had nothing to do with the fact that he had been stuck in his car seat for the previous 6 houses and was just happy that I had finally taken him out (0;
2nd room down this hall has been set up as my office. My boss has been amazing and has really worked with me so that I can work around Cory's schedule and not have to put Tate in daycare. So when I cant be in the office, I'm in here.
3rd room. The master bed. This room has a ton of potential. This is the room that I can see the clearest with all of my Pinterest ideas. So hopefully it wont be long before I have before and after shots of this room posted. No that's not the sacrament tablecloth, although it probably could be, hanging from my window. And yes, that glass chandelier is for sale!
The attached bath.
The kitchen and some more beautiful curtains.
The rest of the kitchen.
The garage... with epoxy floor. PS, I've always wondered what I looked like taking pics. he he he
Now down the stairs. Stockton loves these stairs. He runs up and down them all the time. But for some reason he thinks you can only go down them by going all the way around to the kitchen. Silly dog.
First room downstairs. Right now its our dump room and a mess. SO... that's why you can only really see the top half.
2nd room downstairs. Even has a bed right now if any of you need to come and visit.
This lil gem of a room will one day be a play room for Tate. Right now, its another dump room.
The 3rd bathroom downstairs with the corner shower. I thought this was strange, but for some reason everyone else just loves it! I still haven't used it...
And then the future TV/family room. Right now is the ping pong table room (yes that beauty came with the house!) So the basement is 75% complete, which is actually really great. One day we will get to finish this part, but in the meantime, we don't have a completely unfinished basement that is unlivable.
Walking past the ping pong table and around the corner we come to the food storage/storage room. OOOOHHHH!!! Who would have ever thought that one day a room like this would be my pride and joy? But seriously! Look at all of that space! And that's just one side of the room!!
Back up the stairs and out to the backyard. We live right on Highway 6 that goes up Spanish Fork canyon, so our back wall is a huge sound barrier wall. The sound doesn't bother us at all! I love that the previous owner has the ivy growing up the wall, Cory hates it.
Good ol Stockton LOVES having a backyard to run and play in. I love that we have a ton of lilac bushes right now! Smells WONDERFUL!
And there is the back of the house. We need to find a place to put that hose. It is seriously a tripping hazard.
Well... thanks for coming by on this tour of our house! Sorry its taken me so long to show you. Any time you are down in our neck of the woods... give me a call and you can come see it for real!
Wahoo. Loved the tour. Such a great home. It was fun to see it and help a little when you moved in. I'm drooling over your garage.
