1 year Anniversary

Well, its already been a year since our BIG DAY!!! The week started out a lil bit scary when I had some issues with my back on Wed. Nothing a lil trip to the doctor, some muscle relaxers and two days off work couldn't fix. But, my husband being the great guy that he is booked us a couple massage for our anniversary!

He also spoiled me with flowers! Two of my most favorite things in the world! Flowers, and a massage! And the real great gift was selling our free couches on KSL for $75! They did their job for us, got us through the first year....

But the time comes when you just have to buy your own NEW couches! These are the beauties that we decided on!
Don't worry! All four corners recline! We spend a lot of time on our new couches. As you can tell by Cory in this last picture, we're pretty darn proud of them!

Oh and don't think that I'm a horrible wife, Cory got some new shirts at Sportsmans, I just didn't think about taking a picture of them!

Craft Day with ME as the host!!!

Can I just start off with how hard it is to do craft day? Luckily it turned out to be a success, because the night before I had all but canceled it. Cory and I spent the whole night before working on my sewing machine. This "ol beauty" was a gift to my mom for her wedding! It has worked like a charm for me on my last couple of projects, BUT... I know how this goes. You have a talk on Sunday, you don't try and print it out Sunday morning, because it never fails that your printer wont work. I knew that was going to happen with my "ol beauty". Cory had to fix the entire bobbin case and completely take the whole thing apart! Let me tell you, it wasn't the best date night ever. ha ha ha. But I am so grateful to my handy little hubby for taking it all apart and putting it all together. He even whipped a little pillow together to make sure it was stitching right... which of course it wasn't! I couldn't figure out why the thread was SO SO loose. But... by midnight I just thought, it'll have to do. The next morning I had the brilliant idea to have Meg stop by my moms house and get her machine! It is so much newer and so much nicer! As you can see. BUT NO!!! When it got here I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to thread her bobbin. AND OF COURSE she was in Grover!!! She tried to work me through it over the phone... didn't work, she tried to walk Laura and Cory through it as well.... and it didn't work. Mom's exact words " Next craft day I'm going to put together and teach you girls how to thread a sewing machine" FINALLY!!! That's all I want!!! ha ha ha So the new, nice sewing machine just sat there the whole day! Thank goodness for my "ol beauty".
Now on to the actual project. Due to some pregnant girl complications, Sarah couldn't join us and Laura showed up late. Both due to an excess amount of throwing up! So Meggers and I were the only ones that actually did the projects this time. I decided to have March's project be to cover pillows.

Here is Megs before!!!

And here are her afters! Aren't they so cute???
She decided to go with Dr Seuss fabric! The colors were so freaking great!!!
Oh my gosh! Can you believe my horrible before picture? These horrible pillows came from my free coaches!
And this is the after!
How do you like it???
Meg and both have husbands who sometimes end up working on craft day so we usually get to hang out all day long. After the pillows were made we went to lunch at the new craze in Provo (if its not new don't tell me, sometimes I like to feel like I'm "up" on things) Sammy's. Its probably the most delicious burger that I ever ate in my entire life!!! I will for sure be going back there! We also went to my favorite little boutique Maddox Couture., just lookin around.

When we got back we both wanted to try and figure out the fabric flowers while we chatted. Lucky for me just the other week I scored (yet again) at the Preston DI (favorite DI next to Logan"s) with these beauty's. They have about 3 inches of fabric rolled all up! They have to be at least 50 years old! I got them for .50 cents a roll! They both have about 15 yards left on them!

After just a few tries and lots of burned fingers I think we got the hang of them!
Even though I didn't think March's craft day was going to work out, IT DID!!! No matter what the hold up, keep working through it and you'll end up being happy with the results!!!

HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

AND HAPPY SPRING!!!!

Happy Birthday Cor Cor!!!

Well, Its St Patty's day and you know what that means? Oh... no? Well, it means a big party in the Waters house because this guy right here was born!!! I just asked him if he was Irish to which her replied "I think I'm Irish and Scottish!" and my favorite color is green so he was meant to be born on this holiday, and he was meant for me! ha ha ha

Some things that the birthday boy is up to right now:

*He just passed the POST test for his application process for the police academy. He'll wait in a long line of hopefuls in April (first come first serve) and hopefully get in to the program and start in June

*He loves GUNS!!! I've never seen someone so in LOVE with guns. And I come from a hunting home and 4 brothers. Every day he checks KSL for "steals" (even more that I check for old crappy furniture to renovate) He does a lot of trading and we have a lot of different kinds of guns coming in out of this place. He always reassures me that he's trading up. I cant complain to much because he just got the gun he needs for the police academy brand new and didn't have to pay a dime thanks to these trade ins.

*He loves the country. Now that we're in Orem I hear all the time, "lets take a trip down to Grover!" music to my ears! I always knew I'd marry a country boy

*He's so loving to me. Just tonight, for his birthday dinner at Chilis I told him to order (yes we share our meals, we're both so scrawny that we end up taking home left overs with just one meal, buying two would just be wasteful) for us. He decided on our favorite, the sampler. And instead of the dip, he got those stupid little burgers because he heard me say earlier that I felt like burgers. Little things he does all the time, shows me how much he loves me. And the best part is, he doesn't even try!!!

*HE LOVES WARM WEATHER! And he just cant wait to go fishing. He fly fishes and ties his own flies. Its pretty cool to watch him, he's so laid back and when he starts to work on that kind of stuff you see him get in to this natural groove that is really relaxing.

*He's got two little brothers and both are on missions. Tyler is in Ghana Africa and Jared will be heading to Mexico in the next month. Cory has been the best example to those boys and I love how much he loved his mission. Its so great to read his letters of support to his brothers and hear him share about some of the most incredible experiences in his life.

*Cory loves kids! He is so baby hungry and has been since April 17th, the day after we were married. Luckily all of my sisters and in-laws are popping them out because that tides him over. But its so refreshing to know that he will always be supportive of the idea of kids. He's going to be a great dad!!!

*And of course we cant forget about those dreamy eyes!!

All in all theres a lot to this guy and I just love him with all my heart. I hope that his day was incredible!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!!

I'm Going to Double Up!

To start this blog off I just wanted to say how awesome Cory is. He helps me out so much. He's a hard worker and really tries his best, and I sure love him for it.

This was the other night. I was sitting with the girls... working on some crafts when Cory wondered if we were hungry. So... he whipped up some homemade (FROM SCRATCH) biscuits and gravy. Now, before I became a Waters I can honestly say that I never had biscuits and gravy. Even still I struggle with a heaping plate for breakfast, but for dinner OH MAN does it hit the spot. Anyways... my husband is the greatest and just happens to be pretty darn homey himself. He had all the girls ooohing and aaaing!
They were so good that I forgot to take a picture before I scarfed most of my plate down. ha ha
NOW...
This is part two of my previous post... remember, that sunny Saturday so long ago??? Where I got my chair painted? Well anyway! This is my poor, dreary wall. It has plain since the day we moved in. I have had an idea in the back of my mind for far to long, and I finally put it together and got it up!!!

I collected all different sizes and shapes of frames and laid it out on the floor of what I wanted it to look like. Then I took them outside and painted them what color I wanted them to be (oh the joys of spray paint)
And then I made Cory put them on the wall!!! I love it! Its so fun to have a full wall. I wish that the lighting in the apartment was better so that you could see how beautiful it actually is. And while I'm wishing, I wish that I would have taken a picture before my Valentines stuff was up! shoot!!! And, I still haven't put actually pics in my frames yet... ha ha ha.

AND NOW... On to St Valentines DAY

I started with a project where I needed Styrofoam balls. Have you seen how much those cost??? Like $4-6! I am not cool with that! Especially when I have so many WALMART bags chilling under my sink. So... what you do is bunch up a 5 or 6 Walmart bags, masking tape them in the shape of a circle and WALA!!!! Your own ball. (Walmart just keeps saving me!)
Well, I got the first ball covered in my crepe paper roses all by myself. But after I realized how long it took, I knew that I'd need re-inforecments if I wanted the second one done before the BIG DAY!!! So these lovely girls came to my rescue! A big shout out to Pack sister and the LAMB! They are two of my comps from my mission. And we got that second one done in no time!
And this is how they turned out! All in all it cost be about $1 in crepe paper! Talk about a steal!
And then there was this other craft I wanted to try. It needed one of those pricey Styrofoam ball thingies (how cheap can I be?) So I just went ahead and made another Walmart bag/masking tape ball. Then I got some of my scrap fabric (look familiar?) and scrunched it up just right. ANOTHER SHOUT OUT to my madre for giving me her sewing machine that she got for her wedding! (0: And hot glued it on.
And this is how it all turned out! I love having that wall so jazzed up! What with the frames and the colors and the LOVEY DOVEY decorations!
Again, sorry for the lighting, it just doesn't do it justice! (and yes, if your wondering whats on the TV, it is Little House on the Prairie. That is mine and Stockton's favorite show to watch)

Looky Looky

Well, the other night I was just minding my own business, taking the dog out, checking the mail.... when all of the sudden, someone sent me the coolest gift ever!!! My mother in law Sheila is just the best! She sure gets me!!! She got me a one year subscription to Better Homes!!! Do all of my exclamation marks portray how excited I am?
Well, even though its super cold now... Cory and I took advantage of the semi-warm and beautiful day this last Saturday. Cory is just great and gave up some much wanted fishing time to help me with a few things that I had stashed away due to the cold. What a stud huh?

Speaking of stud. My man must get me too because one day in Nov or Dec he found this beauty set out by the trash can! I know what you're thinking...dumster diving! (0: But, this is a nice chair with just a minor slash through the leather... and just what we need at the computer so I can have my fourth chair back at my table!!! So this beauty is all thanks to Cor. If it belongs to any of you, we thank you.

He had to help a lot with this one, because it was still cold enough outside it was pretty hard to keep the paint from running. Cory is more patient than I am and really helped me to get this job done right.
And here is the final product!!! What do ya think?
Stay posted for our other SUPER AWESOME project!!!
